GEODE Autumn Seminar
The IDPR will be presented at IEEE ISGT Europe 2014 in Istanbul, October 12-15.

The IDPR concept that we are working on will be presented soon. The UPC team in the project has written a paper titled “Experimental Validation of a Single Phase Intelligent Power Router” for the IEEE PES Innovative Smart Grid Technologies in Istanbul, October 12-15.  Seek the authors out when you go there.

The project has filed its first conference paper

The project has filed its first scientific paper with leading author Fernando Castro of ZIV Communications.  The paper with title “IMPLEMENTACIÓN DE SMART GRIDS EN ENTORNOS
RURALES” has been submitted for the CIDEL Conference 2014 to be held in Buenos Aires September 22-24.  The preliminary program for the conference can be found here.

Informa: Telco and Energy & Infrastructure Efficiency, London the 11-12 of November, UK

Are you in telco and communications? The project will be presented at Telco and Energy Infrastructure Efficiency organized by Informa. The event will take place in London during 11-12 of November. Project leader Santi Martinez and Ramon Gallart Fernández, of Estabanell Energia will speak about the project. The presentation entitled, The Smart Rural Grid: Steps Towards Greater Integration of Energy Systems”, will cover the following topics. • Assesing challenges to create a performant Smart Rural Grid: There is no Smart City without Smart Rural • Accommodating telecommunications to develop a robust communication network in rural environment • Improving control and storage technologies and other systems and devices required to achieve high integration level and flexibility • Creating a data and energy control system that manages local micro-production units and different Intelligent Distribution Power Routers (IDPRs) sharing LV & MV networks • How to integrate all the novel features into single platform – what technologies are needed to facilitate data transfer and internal communication?
